Sarah Washburn
Associate
Sarah Washburn is an associate in the St. Louis, Missouri office. Ms. Washburn spent her first years in practice as a patent law attorney in Washington D.C. and then as a family law attorney in the St. Louis metropolitan area after deciding to move back closer to home. Ms. Washburn now concentrates her practice in insurance defense, representing individuals and companies being sued for personal injury or other damages involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, sexual abuse, and general civil defense. Ms. Washburn’s trial experience includes second chairing a recent defense verdict in Madison County, Illinois.
 
Ms. Washburn is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Illinois, New York, and the District of Columbia, and is also admitted in the Eastern District of Missouri and the Southern District of Illinois. Ms. Washburn is also a licensed patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
 
Ms. Washburn earned her law degree from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois where she graduated summa cum laude in the top 5% of her class and was a member of the DePaul Law Review. During law school, Ms. Washburn assisted indigent individuals and families in both the Family Law Legal Clinic and Technology and Intellectual Property Legal Clinic, and interned for the Honorable Thomas M. Durkin of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to law school, Ms. Washburn received her Bachelor of Science in Physics from DePaul University.
 
When not working, Ms. Washburn enjoys reading science fiction, crime thrillers, and horror and exploring the best hiking spots around eastern Missouri with her dog, Remy.
