Nikki Cannezzaro was recently invited to serve on a panel discussion with other Missouri appellate lawyers and judges regarding Issues and Ethics of Managing an Appellate Practice presented by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association's (KCMBA) Appellate Practice Committee.  The panel discussion centered on common hurdles and challenges in appellate practice, including practice development, fee arrangements, the appellate bar and specialty practice, negotiating and preparing contracts for representation, sharing duties with other lawyers (e.g., trial counsel), particular aspects of the duties of competence and diligence related to commencing and prosecuting (or opposing) an appeal.  Ms. Cannezzaro has a unique practice at the firm that includes both substantial trial work and experience, as well as signficant appellate work.
