After a clerkship with the Eastern District Court of Appeals, CJ began his legal career as a defense attorney, practicing in the areas of medical malpractice, workers compensation and general insurance defense.  However, he spent the majority of the past 25 years as a plaintiff’s attorney, getting the opportunity to try more than 25 cases, many as first chair.  Although the clients have changed with Franke, Schultz & Mullen, the experience of litigating personal injury matters for both plaintiffs and defendants provide a unique perspective.  He has handled appeals before Missouri appellate courts, including the Supreme Court. 

Originally from the Kansas City area, CJ has lived the last 30 years in southwest Missouri.  Outside of work, CJ stays busy with his wife and four children, hiking, the gym, the Royals and Chiefs.
