FSM partner Nick Hillyard defended a school bus company and its driver in a lawsuit filed by the driver of a vehicle involved in a three-vehicle accident with the bus.  During the March 2017 trial, the Court granted defendants’ Motion seeking Judgment as a Matter of Law on plaintiff’s claims for negligent training and negligent entrustment against the bus company at the close of plaintiff’s case.  When the defendants finished putting on their case, the jury deliberated for less than one hour before allocating plaintiff 80 percent of the fault for the accident and awarding him no damages.
