John Franke, Joan Sheridan, and Chris Sorenson successfully defended Super Shuttle International and its commercial driver in liberal venue Jackson County, Missouri in a recent transportation case, Mahamed v Super Shuttle International and Munye, Case No. 1616-CV12620. Plaintiff claimed a closed head injury, total disability, with objective evidence of skull fractures. The case was complicated by the fact that the defendant driver was of Somali descent and needed a translator. Plaintiff asked the jury for $3.5MM and the jury’s verdict was $100,000 under the pre-trial offer.
