Crawford County Jury Returns Defense Verdict in Personal Injury Case

02/28/2023
A jury in Crawford County, Missouri, returned a unanimous defense verdict for FSM's client, who had been dealing with a lawsuit for many years when a neighbor broke up a dog fight by kicking a dog. FSM attorney Cara Rose defended a homeowner, whose neighbor alleged that the dog bit him and, when he swung his leg, he landed on his back, suffering an injury to his low back. The plaintiff sought $100,000 in damages. Our client was overjoyed to be able to put this situation behind her, after almost a decade having passed since the original injury was alleged to have occurred. We were thankful for the jury that was willing to listen to the evidence and weigh the credibility of all witnesses and parties, ultimately reaching the conclusion that we believed all along to be the correct decision; that this situation, and any injury alleged to have been suffered, was the fault of the plaintiff and not our client.
