Mr. Whitney practices in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage, and general civil litigation.
Mr. Whitney attended Southern Illinois University School of Law. During law school, Mr. Whitney competed on the trial team and led multiple student organizations. Mr. Whitney discovered a passion for trial advocacy and negotiation by participating in coursework focused on those areas. While earning his Juris Doctorate, he worked as a law clerk for a local litigation firm and served as a research assistant for the Trade Secrets Protection Index. After law school, Mr. Whitney served as a Judicial Law Clerk in the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri, where he developed an interest in insurance litigation and summary judgment advocacy. In his time as a Judicial Law Clerk, Mr. Whitney gained valuable experience in the operations of a busy trial court under fluctuating COVID-19 conditions. Mr. Whitney has a special interest in the law of the First and Second Amendments and adjacent topics related to Constitutional law.
Prior to law school, Mr. Whitney attended Fort Hays State University where he studied the philosophy of law, modern symbolic logic, and herpetology. Mr. Whitney earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. When not working, Mr. Whitney enjoys traveling North America and conducting research in field herpetology.
