Nikki Cannezzaro - Member

Ms. Cannezzaro is a very aggressive trial and appellate lawyer. She has tried numerous cases to juries ranging from multiple fatality automobile accidents to products and premise liability cases, obtaining favorable results for the firm's clients in each case. Ms. Cannezzaro additionally has significant experience in bad faith, vexatious refusal and insurance coverage litigation. Ms. Cannezzaro is the recipient of several awards from the state and local bar associations. She has received the prestigious Thomas J. Conway Award from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, which recognizes outstanding trial skills coupled with the ability to be a fierce advocate and a good friend to opposing counsel at the same time. The Missouri Bar Foundation has awarded Ms. Cannezzaro the Lon O. Hocker Memorial Trial Lawyer Award, recognizing unusual proficiency in the art of trial advocacy and the Donald J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award, recognizing outstanding achievement in appellate advocacy. Ms. Cannezzaro is the only attorney in Kansas City to have received all three of these awards.

Ms. Cannezzaro has also previously been awarded a Women's Justice Award by Missouri Lawyers Weekly recognizing women lawyers under the age of 40 who within the first 10 years of practice made a difference in the justice system or the profession and appear on a path toward even greater accomplishment, the "Rising Legal Leader Award" by the Kansas City Daily Record which recognizes those who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, service, sacrifice and accomplishment in improving the quality of justice in their communities and exemplified the highest ideals of the legal profession, and the "Young Lawyer of the Year Award" from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association for her excellence in public service, professionalism and legal accomplishments. Ms. Cannezzaro has additionally been identified by the Missouri Lawyers Weekly as an "Up and Coming Lawyer," the Kansas City Business Journal in its list of "Best of the Bar" in Kansas City for the last eight years, as well as by Law & Politics Magazine as a "Super Lawyer" in Missouri and Kansas for the last several years.

A number of Ms. Cannezzaro's cases have been recognized by Missouri Lawyers Weekly for both her trial and appellate work. Ms. Cannezzaro's trial work was recognized by Missouri Lawyers Weekly in their "Top Verdicts" special edition. The Missouri Lawyers Weekly published a review of the largest defense verdicts throughout the State of Missouri. In that publication, a case tried by Mr. Franke and Ms. Cannezzaro was selected as one of the best defense verdicts in the State of Missouri. On the appellate level, the Missouri Lawyers Weekly has recognized several of the cases in which Ms. Cannezzaro has been involved in its periodic reviews of "The Most Important Opinions" from the Missouri Appellate Courts.

Ms. Cannezzaro is a leader in our legal community. She is a strong advocate for women and minority issues. She currently serves as the president of the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City. Additionally, she is the president of the Diversity Section of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association where she sits on the Board of Directors. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Cannezzaro served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Robert G. Ulrich, Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District.
