Matt Clifford, along with co-counsel from another law firm, obtained a defense verdict in a jury trial before Judge Prokes in Holt County, Missouri, earlier this year on behalf of the firm’s client Wilshire Insurance Company. Plaintiffs were a truck driver and his wife who were claiming personal injury and loss of consortium arising out of a motor vehicle accident resulting in the death of the other driver. Plaintiffs brought negligence claims and sought damages for emotional, mental, and psychological injuries. Wilshire Insurance Company intervened in the case after plaintiffs made an underinsured motorist claim arising out of the accident while the case was pending. The jury found the plaintiffs did not sustain any damages, resulting in a defense verdict on all counts. Case No. 13ND-CV00263-01.
